“Adopt a plant. Support a planet.”

When children care for plants, they’re also learning to care for the world.

We’re not just planting greenery — we’re growing change. One leaf at a time, we’re saving animals, funding fun, and proving that kids can do big things with compassion, care, and a little dirt under their nails.

Our Mission

🌿 Spider Plant Adoptions with Heart – Supporting Endangered Animals & Empowering Kids! 🐐
At All Saints Boonah OSHC, our amazing children have launched a special project that’s growing more than just plants — it’s growing kindness, compassion, and real-world change!

We’re proud to offer Spider Plant Adoptions, nurtured and propagated by the children themselves with care and intention. Every plant adopted helps raise money to support the animals they’ve chosen through the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). So far, they’ve sponsored a platypus, koala, and penguin — and their mission to protect wildlife is only just beginning!

But the kindness doesn’t stop there! The children have created a wish list of items they’d love to purchase for our service using extra profits — with Mobilo construction sets at the top. This project has sparked their creativity, empathy, and a deep sense of responsibility. They’re excited, motivated, and absolutely AWESOME!

🌱 We’re not just growing plants — we’re growing change.

This meaningful initiative aligns beautifully with the My Time, Our Place (MTOP) learning outcomes:

  • Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity – They’re proudly taking ownership of this project, making real decisions, and seeing the impact of their actions.

  • Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world – By raising money for endangered animals and offering gifts to their community, they’re actively creating positive change.

  • Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing – Working with nature, nurturing plants, and collaborating with peers provides calm, confidence, and joy.

  • Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners – The children have researched plant care, created signage, and reflected on how to share their message with the world.

  • Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators – They’re writing care tags, promoting the project to families, and proudly explaining the purpose of each plant adoption.

This project is also embedded into our Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) under Quality Areas:

  • 1 (Educational Program and Practice)

  • 5 (Relationships with Children)

  • 6 (Collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities)

It demonstrates how child voice, environmental sustainability, and community involvement are at the heart of everything we do.

We're confident this initiative will support our journey toward an Exceeding rating by showing:

✅ Embedded practice – Sustainability, agency, and responsibility are part of our daily routines and choices.
✅ Critical reflection – This project evolved through discussion, feedback, and shared educator-child planning.
✅ Meaningful engagement with families and the community – Through plant adoptions, conversations, and shared goals.

🌿 We invite you to support this inspiring initiative – every plant adopted helps protect animals, supports children’s goals, and proves just how powerful young minds can be when they’re empowered and believed in.

💚 Thank you for helping our children grow a greener, kinder world — one leaf at a time!
